The PTT Scholarship is a merit-based college scholarship which aims to to celebrate the values of family, generosity, hard work, & humility, by awarding 1 exemplary high school graduate annually.
Selection Process
Selection criteria
The founder of the PTT Scholarship will designate the members of the Scholarship Committee who will review all application packages. Selection will be made on the basis of a number of factors, including academic performance assessed by factors including but not limited to GPA and extra-curricular contributions. Special emphasis will be placed on the personal statements and letters of recommendation. After review of the eligible application packages, a subset of finalists will be selected and invited to individual interviews via video-conference. After the finalist interviews have concluded, the Scholarship Committee will determine the 2024 Philip Thiep Tran Memorial Scholarship recipient.

The Scholarship Committee does not discriminate against race, color, age, sex, religion, etc. Application packages are reviewed via a numbered envelope in order to avoid any unconscious bias with students’ names, schools, etc. Financial need will only be a consideration in the event there is a tie between finalists. The Scholarship Committee regrets that they will be unable to notify all applicants with the award decision, and that only scholarship finalists and recipient will be notified. All decisions made will be final.
